The Open Learning Initiative (OLIve) at Central European University focuses on opening access to higher education for refugees and asylum seekers. Established in January 2016, it runs two non-degree programs. The Weekend Program (OLIve-WP) is designed for asylum seekers and refugees in Hungary and runs every Saturday, with two terms during the academic year, from September to June. The University Preparatory Program (OLIve-UP) is full-time (10 months/AY), fully-funded and accepts students with a refugee status from any of the European Economic Area countries. OLIve-UP prepares students for higher education study (MA and BA levels) at international universities. OLIve is currently funded by the Open Society University Network (OSUN).
