Pinar is a part-time staff member at OLIve-UP as Academic Coordinator for the 2017-18 academic year. She previously worked as a research assistant, early career fellow and postdoctoral fellow in institutions of higher education in Turkey and United Kingdom before joining Center for Policy Studies as a research affiliate in 2014. She was able to continue her education at postgraduate level with continuous scholarship and studentship support as well as part-time employment as catering/waiting staff, resident tutor in university halls of residence, graduate teaching assistant and library collections assistant during her MA and PhD studies. She is interested in learning more about critical political economy, critical theory and Marxism, crisis and restructuring, theories of state, processes of precarisation, exploitation and resistance, dynamics of depoliticisation and repoliticisation in policymaking and social relations broadly.
Pinar previously taught seminars and courses in universities in Turkey, United Kingdom and most recently Hungary within the disciplines of politics, international studies and public policy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At CEU she has contributed to teaching in Roma Graduate Preparation Program, Department of Public Policy and Open Learning Initiative Weekend and University Preparation Programs in the capacity of tutor, visiting professor and coordinator on part-time or hourly-paid basis. Since September 2015, she has been contributing to the organisation and running of Open Learning Initiative Weekend Program on a voluntary basis.
