Trauma Informed Teaching
February 22, 2022; 3:30 CEST
In this session, facilitators will support participants in making a map of the different contexts and kinds of trauma students with a migration background may have experienced including self-positioning; introduce some of the psychological and physiological impacts of trauma; and share methodologies and exercises for creating a supportive course structure and seminar environment organized around trust. We will also address some of the more common challenges that come up over the semester, such as how to respond to very personal information which emerges in class or office hours, and source potential solutions.
